Local Outreach

Most recently in the Grace Church Lecture Series, we spent an evening with Dr. Gary Fick, Professor of Crop and Soil Sciences at Cornell University, on the topic "Food Choices & Earth Care". Please check back for more details as we look forward to the lecture series continuing in the fall.

In February, we hosted Karl Johnson of Chesterton House at Cornell University, also part of our lecture series. His lecture Faith in the Halls of Learning, was enlightening and encouraging.

Our Local Outreach Team has two main focuses: it seeks to promote local ministries in the Rochester area who share our desire to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ in diverse ways and it seeks to create opportunities for Grace Church members and friends to give of their time, talents, and treasures to these ministries.

In addition, the Local Outreach Team seeks to provide the momentum necessary for Grace Church-sponsored outreach and community events.  Over the past few years, the church has heavily invested in the Beechwood neighborhood of Rochester, through sponsoring and engaging in works such as community gardening, children’s outreach, and home renovation, working alongside nonprofit organizations such as NEAD (Northeast Area Development) and Community Place of Greater Rochester.

The culmination of this work has been the establishment of our urban ministry work, 441 Ministries.  441 is a joint effort by Grace Church PCA and a handful of its members who live in the neighborhood.  For more information on this ministry click here.
