While the name of God may be nowhere mentioned in the book, the work of his hand is evident throughout it. While it does give us a heroine whose courage we ought to emulate, it ultimately points us to Jesus, the true Hero who not only risked his life in order to save his people, but died and rose in order to secure their salvation. And while it is a book still cherished by the Jews, it is ultimately a book for the church.

Esther is a story within the larger story of God's work to rescue a people for himself - a story we each inhabit.
